Being established in the year 1974, Olaver College has opened the flood gate of Higher Education in the region.Though situated in a remote rural area surrounded by geographical barriers like Baitarani and Kharaswrata rivers, the institution  is established to cater to the educational needs of the area.The college obtained Government Recognition and University Affiliation in the year 1977. The Degree classes were opened in 1980 and the Government recognized and Utkal University affiliated the institution as the first Degree College in Rajkanika Block. The college becomes able to be recognized by UGC under section 2(f) and 12B of the UGC ACT 1956 vide UGC Letter No. F.8-296/2003(CPP-1) Dt. 25.09.2003. It has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council in the year 2006 & 2016 with ‘B’ grade consecutively .
