Established in 1974, Olaver College has significantly expanded higher education in the region. Despite its remote location, surrounded by the Baitarani and Kharaswrata rivers, the college was founded to meet the area’s educational needs. It received government recognition and university affiliation in 1977. Degree programs began in 1980, making it the first degree college in Rajkanika Block to be recognized by the government and affiliated with Utkal University.

In 2003, the college was recognized by the UGC under sections 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act 1956. It has been accredited with a ‘B’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in both 2006 and 2016. The college offers a variety of undergraduate programs in arts, science, and commerce, and has a dedicated faculty committed to providing quality education.

Over the years, Olaver College has developed infrastructure to support its academic programs, including well-equipped laboratories, a library with a vast collection of books and journals, and sports facilities.
